News and Events 

As we expand westward to connect the communities of Chilhowee, Holden and Kingsville with eastern Johnson County and the Spirit Trail, the Spirit Trails Coalition is searching for new members who are interested in alternate transportation systems to serve on the coalition. Citizens who live or work in these communities are encouraged to contact the coalition at info@spirittrail.org with their contact information.

New Surface

Asphalt has been added to a portion of the trail inside Knob Noster State Park. This area has experienced washouts in the past. Thanks, park staff for improving the trail.

The city of Warrensburg and Johnson County are working on improving and protecting the trail surface as well. Thanks, for making the trail safer and more enjoyable,

Utility Work Interuption

Within the city of Warrensburg section, Jennies Field to Ridgeview Drive, expect trail closures due to infrastructure improvements. Please be careful and mindful of closed portions of the trail in this area.

The work is scheduled through July 2026.
